Park was originally called Buffalo Park, and under the latter name established in the late 1870s. It was renamed Park in 1898 by postal officials.

Park is located at 39°6?44?N 100°21?38?W? / ?39.11222°N 100.36056°W? / 39.11222; -100.36056 (39.112299, -100.360501). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.32 square miles (0.83 km2), all of it land.
